MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 10 (Standard 8) or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
- A valid Code EC driver’s licence.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least 5 years of driving experience.
- Ability to read and write.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-discipline and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport passengers and goods to various destinations as instructed.
- Inspect government vehicles before and after each trip.
- Safeguard vehicles against damage and theft.
- Park vehicles safely and activate security devices.
- Report vehicle faults, incidents and accidents to the supervisor or relevant authorities.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks and records of goods transported.
- Wash and vacuum government vehicles.
- Comply with the National Road Traffic Act and departmental policies.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The annual package is R201,093, with the following benefits subject to applicable requirements:
- Optional medical aid.
- Home allowance for employees who meet the prescribed requirements.
- 13th cheque.
