Job Description
Libstar has vacancies for General Workers in its Production and Distribution Departments. Successful candidates will assist with cleaning, packing, stacking, moving products and maintaining hygiene and safety standards within the factory and distribution areas.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Ability to understand, read, write and speak English.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- At least 1 year of production environment experience.
- At least 1 year of FMCG stores experience.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Good health and attention to detail.
- Understanding of hygiene and workplace safety.
- Ability to take initiative and work responsibly.
- Honesty, punctuality and reliability.
- Only candidates based in the Cape Flats will be considered.
Important: A mandatory alcohol and drug test will be conducted before interviews commence.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean workspaces, factory equipment, floors, walls, windows and ablution facilities.
- Pack, stack and move materials and products as instructed.
- Inspect production dates and sell-by/use-by dates on finished products.
- Move finished goods to cold storage promptly to maintain the cold chain.
- Operate trolleys and assist with loading products onto transfer vehicles.
- Clean the loading bay, work-in-progress areas, toilets and changing rooms.
- Remove waste packaging and maintain good housekeeping.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow food hygiene, safety policies and the company’s “Clean as You Go” procedures.
- Report injuries, incidents, breakages, unsafe conditions and product losses immediately.
- Follow company procedures and instructions from supervisors.
