Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in general cleaning, housekeeping, and basic food preparation.
- Ability to cook and prepare meals for groups of people.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling, and cleaning standards.
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including lifting, carrying, and moving supplies or equipment.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends when required.
- Ability to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
Preference will be given to candidates residing in Masiphumelele.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals and refreshments for research participants according to site requirements.
- Clean and maintain offices, clinical areas, kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Maintain clean and hygienic food preparation and serving areas.
- Monitor food, cleaning, and refreshment stock levels.
- Submit monthly stock replenishment requirements to the Operations Manager.
- Store and rotate food supplies correctly to reduce spoilage and waste.
- Prepare refreshments for visitors, staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Receive, unpack, move, and store deliveries and site supplies.
- Perform general housekeeping and basic caretaker duties.
- Report maintenance, safety, hygiene, security, and stock-related concerns.
- Attend required meetings and training and follow workplace procedures, health and safety rules, and confidentiality requirements.
