MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar packing role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- High level of accuracy when weighing and checking products.
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Packaging Operations
- Pack finished products according to approved manufacturing orders and packaging instructions.
- Check that the correct products, packaging materials, bag sizes, and labels are used.
- Verify that labels match the manufacturing order and product specifications.
- Weigh and fill bags accurately within specified limits.
- Stack, secure, and wrap finished-product pallets according to requirements.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to the position.
Quality Control and Safety
- Inspect packaging materials and finished products before and during packing.
- Check product codes, batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates.
- Report damaged packaging, contamination, foreign materials, and quality problems to the supervisor.
- Follow food/feed safety, environmental, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately.
- Follow site safety rules and emergency procedures.
Housekeeping and Continuous Improvement
- Keep the production line and work area clean, organised, and safe.
- Maintain good housekeeping throughout the production site.
- Identify process problems and suggest improvements to the supervisor.
- Cooperate with colleagues to support efficient operations.
