MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in using tools required for the position.
- Physically agile and dexterous.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work accurately and under pressure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Pick a wide variety of items using requisitions and order sheets.
- Place and arrange items in bins according to specific instructions.
- Check received stock for damage.
- Confirm that the correct items and quantities have been selected.
- Ensure inbound and outbound orders are correct and defect-free.
- Keep work areas clean, neat and well organised.
- Pack incoming stock away.
- Conduct inventory checks and report shortages.
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Pick orders as requested by management.
- Ensure the correct information is attached to completed orders.
- Move completed orders to the delivery area.
- Assist with wrapping and securing goods using stretch wrap, shrink wrap and strapping.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Comply with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining store security.
