Requirements: NQF level 3 Certificate or Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification. No experience is required. EPWP employees will be prioritized. Exposure to the hospital environment will be an added advantage. Competencies: Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, Patients’ Rights and responsibilities, interpersonal relations skills, and telephone etiquette. In order to address the Employment Equity agenda in line with the Employment Equity Plan of the institution, preference will be given to White males and females, Indian males and females as well as Coloured males and females.

Duties: Transport patients from and to different departments. Transport corpses from wards to the mortuary. Offload patients from ambulances and private cars to stretchers. Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after using them all the time. Report all faulty and broken equipment to the supervisor. To collect stretchers and wheelchairs around the institution. Must be prepared to work day and night shifts including Sundays and public holidays when allocated. Release bodies after hours and on weekends to undertakers when requested to do so. Report non-functional fridges any faulty, low/high temperatures. Ensure the cleanliness of the fridges
