Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification. Exposure in the public health administration environment preferably in a hospital setting. Skills in the following areas: Knowledge of Batho-Pele Principles, Policies and procedure manual, Organizing, Communication, and Computer literacy. Interpersonal relationship. The computer-based test will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates. In order to address the Employment Equity agenda in line with the Employment Equity Plan of the institution, preference will be given to White males and females, Indian males and females, and Coloured males and females.
Duties: Filing and retrieval of patient records and other documents related to patient files in all areas. Be prepared to work shifts and rotate within Patient Administration when requested. Ensure that statistics are done on a daily basis. Safekeeping and disposal of patients’ files in terms of the National Archives Act. Daily bookings of patients and tracing of missing files. Correct capturing and completion of downtime registers using the downtime tool. Tracking and checking the movement history of patients on the system and register book. Assist SAPS and other stakeholders with the completion of J88. Capture and update patient information on the system. Perform all other duties of patient administration as delegated by the supervisor.
